Wilhelmsbad Door - February’s Print of the Month

Wilhelmsbad Door

At Wilhelmsbad, I was drawn to this door not just for its weathered colours and textures, but for the sense of passage it suggested. It sits quietly in its setting, carrying the weight of time and the promise of what lies beyond. Photographing it, I focused on the details — the peeling paint, the hinges, the shadows cast by the soft winter light — capturing both its history and its quiet invitation.

For me, doors are about moments of pause and choice. This one seemed to speak of transition: leaving behind one space and moving toward another, quietly asking the viewer to imagine the story beyond the threshold.

Produced as a signed and numbered limited edition of 10, this piece is collected for its calm restraint and its ability to hold space within a room. It sits comfortably in places where stillness is valued, offering a visual pause and a reminder that clarity often comes when we step back and allow space to do its work.
